Good news for Luxembourg's litigants: the justice system intends to do everything possible to make up for the backlog accumulated during the health crisis. In an article in Paperjam, the Minister of Justice has indeed announced several measures for the return of judicial proceedings as of 4th May.
This is of course very good news for anyone who has been waiting for a hearing for a long time, as well as for lawyers. In addition to the possibility of being able to return to work, lawyers can also hope for the progress of certain cases and the payment of their fees. A breath of fresh air after a month of April at half-mast when the Bar Association estimates that the firms' turnover is down by an average of 75%.
However, there is no question of a return to normal. As the Minister points out, if the epidemic resumes, measures such as those taken in the past months will have to be taken again.
